In his heirarchy of human needs, Maslow placed the need for belonging just after the basic physiological and safety needs. Educators have the same basic human need for belonging and it is important for us to become an important part of the community by nurturing relationships within the educational community including relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the greater educational community.

At Yukon Education there are consultants for Social and Emotional Learning, Response to Intervention/Responsive Teaching, English Language Learners, and Literacy. Our professional relationships must model how others can work together respectfully. Within the Cypher IV Mathematics Leadership Project, enthusiastic colleagues with great energy and passion for teaching meet and follow a collaborative planning cycle for both assessing and addressing student needs. One of the components of this project is a literature circle that connects mathematics teaching and learning to social and emotional learning, responsive teaching, english language learners, and, more generally, literacy-across-the curriculum. Graphing Tools

  • Graphs and charts are great because they communicate information visually. For this reason, graphs are often used in newspapers, magazines and businesses around the world.

NCES constantly uses graphs and charts in our publications and on the web. Sometimes, complicated information is difficult to understand and needs an illustration. Graphs or charts can help impress people by getting your point across quickly and visually.external image piebar_icon.gif

Here you will find five different graphs and charts for you to consider. Not sure about which graph to use? Confused between bar graphs and pie charts? Read our:Create A Graph Tutorial
